This week unfolded as a dynamic mix of technical challenges, collaborative learning, and valuable insights in the pursuit of a more stable and user-friendly online environment. My primary goal was to improve the functionality and presentation of several websites, including cannabas.de, cannabisolie.nl, and perfectewijn.nl. Much attention was devoted to optimizing product displays and integrating new visual elements, such as the stylish discount icon that will soon go live. This progress instilled a sense of advancement and confirmed that our efforts are paying off.
Despite the successes, there was also room for improvement. Various technical issues, such as incomplete order displays and inconsistencies in email system functionality, highlighted the need for sharper problem identification and quicker engagement of specialist support. For instance, a caching problem on Shopify’s servers led to prolonged and frustrating delays in order display. An expert’s immediate involvement eventually resolved this issue, emphasizing the challenge of swiftly pinpointing the root cause of critical errors.
A standout moment of the week was representing Indicia at a Speedmeet at Avans Den Bosch, where I had the opportunity to network with around 40 companies and exchange experiences with fellow students and professionals. These interactions provided fresh perspectives and direct feedback on my approach, particularly regarding visual design and the use of new technologies like GPT image generation. The feedback received especially on the design of the discount hero banner has since been incorporated into redesigns and serves as a key catalyst for future improvements.
Despite the hectic pace and occasional frustrating technical obstacles, the week also brought moments of satisfaction. The enthusiasm shared during collaborative efforts and the recognition of our progress energized me to keep moving forward. For the coming week, I plan to adopt a more structured approach by identifying critical issues sooner and engaging the appropriate expertise in a timely manner. I expect that this proactive stance will not only boost efficiency but also further enhance the overall quality of our websites.
