Internship Indicia Week 19

Agile fixes & iterative site upgrades

This week the focus shifted to ongoing websites. At TailorIT I processed recent email feedback, which mainly consisted of small text changes and a subtle adjustment to the structure of a training page. The switch to Club went less smoothly: the desired appointment planner turned out to be difficult in Shopify without additional apps. At first I got stuck in code work-arounds, but by quickly switching to an app that supports fixed date and time slots, it ended up working within half an hour.

TotalFund demanded a lot of attention this week. Their marketing team sent a new batch of texts and design requirements for the homepage. It took some puzzling to bring everything together aesthetically, but after some iteration there is now a clear structure with consistent buttons, working CTAs, and the correct disclaimers. The client especially appreciated that the changes went live within a single day each time. What went less smoothly was the unforeseen time that crept into the button logic. Based on that, I will plan extra buffer time from now on for seemingly “small” front-end tasks.
An unexpected project came from the internal AI team: Jip asked me to use GPT to generate a series of SEO pages for the Indicia site. The goal was not to address a reading audience, but to rank for niche keywords in search engines. Through clever template work and a controlled quality check, the job was finished in a single day. Although it felt repetitive, it provided valuable insights into how AI content can strengthen our visibility game.

What went well was my flexibility in switching between diverse tasks. Each project quickly received the attention it needed, and deadlines were met. The compliments from TotalFund and the rapid acceptance of the Club planner confirmed that my iterative approach delivers results. At the same time, I noticed the week was full of questions, so I sometimes ended up working a bit longer than usual at the end of the day.
Next week I will focus on several points, such as analyzing the AI SEO pages in Search Console to see whether the desired effect occurs. Finally, of course, the presentation of my internship results is on the agenda.

Looking back, this was a week in which I had to act as both the small-scale and large-scale problem solver. The design consistency of TotalFund has been restored, Club has a first version of a planner, TailorIT is up to date again, and Indicia benefits from fresh, keyword-oriented content. The mix of creative and technical assignments kept me sharp and once again made it clear that clear communication with all stakeholders is crucial to avoid surprises in scope and timing.
