Internship Indicia Week 3
Internship Indicia Week 3 Gaining Confidence & Embracing New Tools This week started off calmly, but I noticed that I was gaining more control over the projects I was working
This week was all about solving technical problems and further developing the websites I’m working on. Monday started off calmly, but I quickly found myself in a busy stream of tasks, including updating Microsoft training modules for Tailor IT. This was a time-consuming task, as we had nearly 100 trainings to update, but tackling it with Lodewijk made it both challenging and rewarding.
One thing that stood out this week was how flexible I had to be in my work. From setting up translations and correcting URL slugs for multiple websites to writing a script to automate the process, every task came with its own difficulties. The automation of link translations for a German website turned out to be more complex than expected, mainly due to the large scale of the task. Testing took a lot of time, but working through the problem step by step felt rewarding.
I also had the opportunity to create an animation for Bubbles & Bo, which was a nice break from the technical work. I got to explore my creative side while working on the H&C Coaches logo animation, and it was great to receive positive feedback from Mees and Thomas. This reminded me of the importance of continuing to develop my creativity, even in a technical environment.
Another major task was correcting over 100 URL slugs for PerfecteWijn.nl. It was satisfying to see that the process worked, even though there were still some minor link issues. This experience reinforced the importance of patience and persistence when dealing with technical challenges. I also learned that planning ahead is crucial for large-scale tasks, such as translations and process automation, since they tend to take more time than expected.
My goal for this week was to make progress on updating the trainings and complete several technical website tasks, which I successfully achieved. Next week, I expect to continue working on technical tasks, but I also want to shift more focus to the creative aspects of my projects, such as the design for Bubbles & Bo. I’m looking forward to the new challenges ahead.
Take a look at my Internship Week 4 post to see what I did previously.
