Internship Indicia Week 3
Internship Indicia Week 3 Gaining Confidence & Embracing New Tools This week started off calmly, but I noticed that I was gaining more control over the projects I was working
This week started with further work on the Mont Renard website. While the tasks were relatively simple, they still required a significant amount of time. The morning ended with a meeting about the do’s and don’ts of AI, something Indicia strongly embraces. It was interesting to learn how AI can save time on repetitive tasks. After lunch, I continued making adjustments, but it quickly became clear that the day would be much busier than expected.
Around midday, I received a more urgent assignment—building a landing page for Neopixels. The deadline was tight, and the project had already been delayed due to technical issues. To ensure efficiency, I decided to build the page from scratch in a new editor, rather than working on the old version. This turned out to be the right choice, as I managed to complete the page on time, which gave me a sense of accomplishment. This experience taught me that the fastest solution isn’t always the least risky, but in this case, it was the best approach.
The rest of the week focused on updating my portfolio and developing the design for Bubbles & Bo. I explored the space-themed concept for their website and began creating pixel art in Illustrator. This was a new experience for me, as I don’t often work with pixel art, but it went better than expected. Later in the week, I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of Shopify, a system I am working with more frequently. However, modifying a pre-programmed page proved challenging, and I realized I needed more information to proceed. This was frustrating but also made me reflect on the complexity of the projects I am working on.
One thing I noticed this week is that I enjoy the balance between technical tasks and creative work. The technical challenges provided a good level of difficulty, but the creative process—such as designing pixel art for Bubbles & Bo—was incredibly satisfying. The feedback I received focused on adapting to different systems and improving my decision-making process in design and development.
The biggest challenges this week were the tight deadline for the Neopixels landing page and the difficulty of completing certain tasks due to a lack of information. Despite these challenges, I look back on the week with a sense of accomplishment. I learned a lot, particularly about working with new systems and integrating creative ideas into a practical workflow. My goal for this week was to grow in my role and gain more experience, and I definitely achieved that.
For the upcoming week, I expect the workload to remain similar, but I feel well-prepared. The Bubbles & Bo redesign will continue, and I’m looking forward to new challenges, especially with Shopify and other technical aspects.
