This week started off calmly, but I noticed that I was gaining more control over the projects I was working on. I began by updating my messages and portfolio, which helped me get everything in order before fully focusing on the design work for Bubbles & Bo. We designed dynamic sections that are both easy to modify and well-integrated with Shopify. This was a new challenge, but seeing the design take shape was incredibly rewarding.
We also attended an in-house presentation on ISO 27001 certification, which provided insights into how Indicia maintains security standards and positions itself in the market long-term.
The rest of the week was heavily focused on developing the Bubbles & Bo website. The designs became more refined, and I started to feel fully immersed in creating a child-friendly theme. What stood out was how well the dynamic sections worked, laying the groundwork for the next project phase.
A key lesson this week was the importance of staying flexible and embracing new tools. This became especially clear when I had to create an animation for HC Tilburg’s LED boards. Initially, I tried using Canva, but it lacked control over variables. Switching to After Effects turned out to be the right choice, and both Thomas and Mees were very happy with the result.
On Friday afternoon, I had a conversation with Sasja Vos about my first weeks at Indicia. This provided valuable insights into how the company operates and how I can maximize my impact as an intern.
One of the challenges this week was dealing with technical issues, such as modifying a pre-programmed page for Bubbles & Bo. While these moments are great learning opportunities, they can also be frustrating.
My goal this week was to speed up progress on the Bubbles & Bo project and update my portfolio, and I feel I achieved that successfully. Next week, I plan to dive deeper into branding for Bubbles & Bo and look forward to the new challenges ahead.
